About This Event

Holika Dahan is based on the story of Prahlada, a young devotee of Lord Vishnu, and his father Hiranyakashipu, who demanded to be worshipped as a god. When Prahlada refused, Hiranyakashipu asked his sister Holika, who believed she was protected from fire, to sit with the child in a blazing bonfire. By divine grace, Prahlada was unharmed, while Holika was burned. This sacred event symbolizes the victory of faith and goodness over ego and evil.
